Our Story

My love of candles began long before I started making them myself. Over the years, I was gifted many beautiful candles - thoughtful presents that brought comfort, warmth and memories of the people who gave them. Each one became more than just a candle; it was a reminder of kindness, friendship, and special moments.

During Lockdown, while caring for my son at home, I decided to learn a new skill. Candles felt like a natural choice, something I already loved, and something that could bring light into uncertain times. What started as a personal project quickly grew into a passion, and before long The Soy Wax Candle Company was born.

All of my candles are hand-poured using 100% natural soy wax, a renewable, eco-friendly and vegan alternative to paraffin. Soy wax burns cleaner, lasts longer, and doesn’t release toxins into the air, making it better for you and the planet.

But candles are just the beginning. I also create a full range of reed diffusers and soy wax melts, all available in the same beautiful fragrances as my candles. The diffusers are especially popular, they last for at least 8 months, offering a long-lasting, flame-free way to keep your home filled with your favourite scent. So if you’re not a candle lover, there’s still something for you to enjoy.

Every product is made with care at my shop, Artisans Hub, located in Blake House Craft Centre near Braintree, Essex. I love being part of a creative community and sharing my craft with visitors.

Whether you choose a candle, diffuser or wax melts, my hope is that they bring warmth, comfort, and lasting memories into your home, just as candles have done for me.
