Soy wax is a vegetable wax made from the oil of soybeans. After harvesting, the beans are cleaned, cracked, de-hulled, and rolled into flakes. The oil is then extracted from the flakes and hydrogenated. The hydrogenation process converts some of the fatty acids in the oil from unsaturated to saturated. SUSTAINABILITY
Mission statement
As a lover of our environment I am very conscientious about using products that are as environmentally friendly to our planet.
After researching different soy wax products I chose to use Natural Soy Wax as the base for all my candles. As a company I am very aware of sourcing our raw materials from as ecologically friendly producers as possible. This is why I use products from Cargill.
Cargill has been working to end deforestation related to soy production since 2001. They promote sustainable practices to meet the worlds growing demand for soy in food, animal feed and to bio-fuel driven by increasing nutritional needs, changing dietary habits and desire for fossil fuel alternatives. Cargill now have 100% traceability on all their soya bean products and producers.

In 2006, Cargill worked with industry, government and NGO partners to put in place the Soy Moratorium in Brazil. As part of this agreement, we committed not to purchase from or offer financing to farmers who grow soy on lands in the Amazon biome that were deforested after that date. The moratorium has since been adapted to align with Brazil’s new Forest Code and extended indefinitely. Today, we are working with The Nature Conservancy to help farmers comply with the Brazilian Forest Code, enter the rural environmental registry (or CAR) and adopt sustainable practices.

Our Story
I've received many lovely candles over the years and loved each and every one of them. A gifted candle always then reminds me of the friend that brought it, a particular dinner party or a friend that had just decided to gift me a candle to cheer me up.
From this love of candles I decided during the UK's Covid 19 lockdown to learn a new skill as I was staying at home looking after my son.
What better opportunity to start a new business and to create something I love. I've really enjoyed every moment of learning and I have to say I'm actually really good at it. I hope you enjoy your new candle that I have hand poured for you.
Our Mission
You can visit and watch the magic happen at The Soy Wax Candle Company’s pouring house that is based within Artisans Hub at Blake House Craft Centre in Essex, CM77 6SH.
Our Products
Soy wax is created using pure soy bean oil, which is a natural, 100% vegetable, renewable source. It is also biodegradable and vegan friendly.
Because soy wax candles burn more slowly, fragrance is gradually released, creating a more pleasant atmosphere than an immediate hit of strong scent which doesn’t last.
